Lauren Jauregui

Artist ∙ Pop

Pop singer-songwriter Lauren Jauregui rose to fame as a member of Fifth Harmony before finding solo succes in the late 2010s.

• Born in Miami, Jauregui is the daughter of Cuban immigrants who moved to the US as refugees during the Casto era.
• In 2012, she appeared as a contestant on Season 2 The X Factor. After being eliminated as a solo artist, she was placed into a group with four other girls—thus was born the vocal quintet that would become known as Fifth Harmony.
• Fifth Harmony placed third on the show and signed to Simon Cowell’s label. The group went on to release three albums and notch four Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
• Jauregui teamed up with Marian Hill for 2016’s “Back To Me,” her first release outside of Fifth Harmony. She followed that with “All Night,” an electro-house collaboration with Steve Aoki that peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
• In 2017, she featured on Halsey’s bisexual anthem “Strangers.” That year, Jauregui was named “Celebrity of the Year” at the British LGBT Awards.
• Her first non-collaborative solo single, “Expectations,” came in 2018. She dropped a pair of Spanish-language tracks—“Nada” (with Tainy and C. Tangana) and “Lento” (with Tainy)—in 2020.
