Artist ∙ Afrobeats

Considered by some to be the greatest Nigerian artist of all time, singer, songwriter, and producer 2Baba (known as 2Face Idibia until 2014) has achieved international stardom with a string of award-winning albums.

• Born Innocent Ujah Idibia, he began performing under the name 2Face Idibia in the late ’90s, around the time he started the hip-hop trio Plantashun Boiz with rapper Blackface Ninja and singer Faze. The group released a pair of albums.
• Plantashun Boiz split in 2004, and 2Baba released his solo debut, Face 2 Face, soon after. The album includes the single “African Queen,” which also appeared on the soundtrack to the 2006 American romantic comedy Phat Girlz.
• After releasing his second album, Grass 2 Grace, late in 2006, 2Baba won Best African Act in 2007 at the MOBO Awards in the UK.
• His third album, 2008’s The Unstoppable, received an international rerelease in 2010—the same year 2Baba won Artist of the Year and Best Male at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
• In 2011, The Unstoppable won Album of the Year and Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies, an awards show sponsored by Nigeria’s Hip Hop World Magazine.
• In 2016, the singer announced on social media that he was dropping the name 2Face Idibia in favor of 2Baba, which had been a nickname since early in his career.
• His 2020 album, Warriors, includes contributions from a roster of prominent Nigerian performers, including Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Olamide.
