The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra

Artist ∙ Soundtrack

The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra was founded by producer James Fitzpatrick following the Velvet Revolution, which left many Czech musicians searching for new work.

∙ Its roots can be traced back to the Film Symphony Orchestra, a world-renowned ensemble responsible for the Emmy Award-winning music for the miniseries The Bourne Identity.
∙ The orchestra worked with David Lynch and composer Angelo Badalamenti on music for the movies Mulholland Dr. and Lost Highway.
∙ In 2006, they recorded Javier Navarrete’s Oscar-nominated score for Pan’s Labyrinth, which was featured in full on the film's soundtrack at the request of director Guillermo del Toro.
∙ The orchestra performed the underscore of Oscar-winning German film The Lives of Others.
∙ They are one of the world’s most prolific ensembles, having accumulated hundreds of credits across film, TV, and and video games.
∙ They have collaborated with such composers and musicians as Nick Cave, Philip Glass, and Jóhann Jóhannsson.
