Bronze Whale
Artist ∙ Electronic
Austin-based electronic duo Bronze Whale craft chill house tunes with original vocals and indie-pop appeal.
• Before delving into electronic music, Aaron Jaques played drums in various bands. He met Benny Allen in an online forum and soon gave him production lessons, laying the groundwork for a friendship and creative partnership.
• Bronze Whale kicked off their career in the future bass space, mixing hip-hop drums with languid synth lines and filtered vocal samples.
• In 2015, the duo launched the Magic Magic label and collective and released their debut EP, War of Art. The four-track collection explores a broader range of sounds, from indie dance to drum ’n’ bass.
• Alley began singing on tracks in 2018, as the duo wanted to explore new musical frontiers. Their debut album, The Shape of Things, arrived in 2019.
• Popular remixers, Bronze Whale have reworked songs by Felix Cartal, Gorgon City, Mothica, Manila Killa, and more.
