Originally known for leading the K-pop girl group 2NE1, CL helped blaze paths for South Korean entertainers in global music, film, and fashion.

• CL debuted as the leader and main rapper of girl group 2NE1. Her strong attitude and fierce personality laid the groundwork for a new breed of powerful female acts in Korea.
• In 2013, CL released her first solo single, “The Baddest Female,” which represented female empowerment and individuality.
• She signed with music manager Scooter Braun—who helped Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande gain fame—and began to make a name in America. Her 2016 single “Lifted” made her the first South Korean female soloist to enter the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
• In 2018, CL commanded the world's attention as a performer at the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony in Pyeongchang, South Korea, performing both “The Baddest Female” and 2NE1’s signature hit, “I Am the Best.”
• CL’s work has extended into movies (she acted in the 2018 film Mile 22 alongside Mark Wahlberg) and fashion (she’s cited as a muse for designers like Jeremy Scott and Alexander Wang).
