Pop singer Ella Eyre blends soul, hip-hop, and R&B influences with a smoky, expressive voice.
• Eyre was a competitive swimmer before she began singing and studying musical theater. She was 18 when she landed a record deal in 2012.
• She contributed vocals to “No Angels,” Bastille’s 2012 mash-up of TLC’s “No Scrubs” and The xx’s “Angels,” and broke through in 2013 when she sang on “Waiting All Night,” a No. 1 hit by the English drum ‘n’ bass band Rudimental.
• The deluxe edition of her 2015 debut, Feline, includes a bonus cover of Jermaine Stewart’s 1986 single “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.” Eyre’s album reached No. 4 on the UK singles chart.
