Guatemalan Gaby Moreno is an award-winning singer and songwriter whose music encompasses a broad spectrum of genres, from blues and jazz to pop, R&B, soul, and Latin folk styles. She sings in both Spanish and English and has called her sound "Spanglish folk soul." She issued her debut album, Still the Unknown, in 2008. Two years later, she released her sophomore effort, Illustrated Songs, and also co-composed the instrumental theme song for the television series Parks and Recreation, winning an Emmy nomination. The Latin Grammy-winning Postales arrived in 2012, followed by the 2014 Christmas album Posada and Ilusión in 2016. In 2019, she and pianist/arranger/composer Van Dyke Parks released the collaborative, iSpangled! In 2022, Moreno released the guitar- driven, experimental Alegoría. She followed with X Mí (Vol. 1) EP, an unplugged set of re-recorded songs, and the long-player Dusk in 2024. ~ Thom Jurek
