Aleksandra Kurzak

Artist ∙ Classical

Aleksandra Kurzak's parents originally wanted her to become a violinist, but after graduating from secondary school, she decided to become a voice student and follow her mother, Jolanta Zmurko, onto the opera stage. Kurzak made her debut in Le nozze di Figaro at the Wroclaw State Opera, singing Susanna to her mother's Countess. In the 2004-2005 season, she made debuts at both the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. She started her career in coloratura roles, such as the Queen of the Night, but as her voice has matured, she has carefully modified her repertoire to suit her abilities. Her first solo release as a Decca artist was 2011's Gioia!
