One of the more creative left-field hip-hop figures to surface during the late 2000s/early 2010s, Clams Casino landed his first collaboration after contacting the Pack's Lil B, who proceeded to use several of his productions, all of which were trippy, wistful, and strangely emotive. Clams' profile gradually raised as word got out that he was the one behind these tracks, as well as material by Main Attrakionz, Squadda Bambino, and Havoc. In 2011, Clams uploaded a free mixtape of instrumentals -- something of a highlight reel, along with a previously unused beat. This preceded the first official Clams Casino solo release, the Rainforest EP, which was issued by Tri Angle that June. ~ Andy Kellman
