With his 2011 hit “Drank In My Cup,” rapper Kirko Bangz cemented his place as a Houston legend.
• He started rapping at 15 and released his 2009 debut mixtape, Procrastination Kills, while attending Prairie View A&M University. The name Kirko Bangz is a tribute to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
• His 2011 smash “Drank In My Cup” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart and became a Houston anthem.
• In 2013, Bangz was named to XXL’s 2013 Freshman Class list.
• By 2020, Bangz had released two EPs and 11 mixtapes, including three more instalments in the Procrastination Kills series.
