Pop singer Michael Schulte rose to prominence in his native Germany in 2011, when he competed on the inaugural season of the reality competition The Voice of Germany. He finished in third, setting the stage for a successful career.

• Schulte got his start in 2008 posting cover songs online before releasing his debut single, “Soul Traveler,” in 2010. The song also appeared on his first album, 2011’s All the Waves.
• He made the charts for the first time in 2012 with “Carry Me Home,” which reached No. 8 in Germany.
• Schulte’s third album, 2012’s Wide Awake, was his first to make the German albums chart, reaching No. 54—his highest-charting album until 2019’s Highs & Lows, which peaked at No. 23.
• In 2018, Schulte represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest with “You Let Me Walk Alone.” He finished fourth, and the song became his biggest commercial success so far, peaking at No. 3 in Germany.
