Hartmut Schill

Violinist Hartmut Schill specializes in chamber music and is also a noted orchestral player. He has earned awards internationally. In 1997, Schill became concertmaster of the Robert Schumann Philharmonie and also the first violinist of the Robert Schumann Quartet. He made his recording debut in 1999 on the Robert Schumann Philharmonie album Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Discoveries. In 2005, he appeared with the Robert Schumann Quartet on the album Theodor Fuerchtegott Kirchner: Chamber Music. He continued a close involvement with chamber music, founding the Schill Quartet in 1990 and also serving as a member of Trio 71. In 2023, he appeared as soloist and member of the Robert Schumann Philharmonie on the album Gija Kancheli: A Little Daneliade; Valse Boston.
