A cofounder of London’s Hot Creations label, Lee Foss has been a fixture of the house music scene since his debut EP in 2010. The Chicago native grew up attending local raves in the ‘90s, but once he met future label partner Jamie Jones in Ibiza in the early 2000s, he began honing the style of house—deep, hypnotic, tropical, sexy—that would make Hot Creations so celebrated. In 2009, Foss and Jones launched their collaborative project Hot Natured, and in 2017, Foss released his solo debut, Alchemy, concentrating on the funkier, more melodic aspects of his music. Though his sound was forged in underground clubs and after-hours parties, Foss has no fear of pop music: In 2021, he released a cover of Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps,” full of undertones as sensual as the source material.
