Blackway is a fast-flowing rapper from Ghana who cast a web with his 2018 Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse hit “What’s Up Danger,” alongside Black Caviar.

• The son of actor and satirist Kwaku Sintim-Misa, Blackway moved from his native Accra, Ghana, to Long Island, New York, with his mother in 2006.
• Blackway began his career by posting posting freestyles. He has cited JAY-Z and Big L’s 1995 freestyle on the The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito radio show as a main influence on his rhyming.
• In 2017, Blackway teamed up with Gucci Mane and French artist DJ Battle for the single “That Fast.”
• Blackway’s 2020 single “Heavyweight” was selected by the NFL to be part of its “Songs of the Season” series.
• The Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse soundtrack opens with Blackway and Black Caviar’s “What’s Up Danger.” The soundtrack earned a Grammy nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
• Blackway released his 2018 debut EP, Good.Bad.Faded, on Republic Records before leaving the label in 2019.
