Silla
Artist ∙ Hip-Hop/Rap
German rapper Silla was born Matthias Schulze on May 5, 1984. Initially performing and recording under the name Godsilla, he appeared as a guest on 2003's Rap Braucht Kein Abitur, the debut album of Bass Sultan Hengzt, co-founder of the I Luv Money label. In 2004, Godsilla released his debut album, Übertalentiert, and in addition to various collaborations and guest appearances, he issued his second album, Massenhysterie, in 2006, followed by City of God in 2007. The rapper's fourth solo album was postponed due to his problems with alcoholism, and in 2010 he dropped the name Godsilla due to a legal challenge. Now using the moniker Silla, he finally issued his fourth album, 2011's Silla Instinkt, which entered the charts at number 30. ~ Christian Genzel
