Richard Bosworth

Artist ∙ Classical

Since the mid- to early '80s, producer/engineer Richard Bosworth has worked with some of rock's most-renowned acts. Bosworth learned from the best, as he was trained by such notables as Val Garay (who worked as an engineer on releases by Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor), Peter Asher (who had apprenticed with George Martin), and Gary Usher (who co-penned several hits with Brian Wilson, in addition to producing such classic Byrds albums as Younger Than Yesterday, The Notorious Byrd Brothers, and Sweetheart of the Rodeo). A major Beatles fan and scholar, Bosworth has been lucky to have worked at the Fab Fours' Abbey Road Studios in London, where he learned how to replicate various classic Beatles recording techniques, courtesy of chief engineer Ken Townsend. With an impressive resumé, Bosworth eventually set out on his own working with countless rock/pop artists over the years. A few of Bosworth's engineer and/or production highlights have included Don Henley's Building the Perfect Beast, the Jacksons' Victory, Kiss' Creatures of the Night and Lick It Up, Steve Perry's Street Talk, Barbra Streisand's Emotion, Neil Young's Landing on Water, and Warren Zevon's Sentimental Hygiene, among countless others. Based in Los Angeles, CA, Bosworth continues studio work to this day. ~ Greg Prato
