Jamaica dancehall artist Busy Signal grew up singing church hymns and spinning at after-school DJ contests.
∙ Busy Signal’s 2005 single “Step Out” was a breakthrough hit in Jamaica, establishing him in mainstream dancehall circles.
∙ He is a member of Bounty Killer’s dancehall deejay collective, The Alliance.
∙ Featured on the 2012 No Doubt single “Push and Shove,” Busy Signal also contributed vocals to Major Lazer’s 2013 hit “Watch Out for This (Bumaye).”
∙ His 2019 LP, Parts of the Puzzle, debuted at a career-best No. 2 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.
∙ At the 2020 International Reggae & World Music Awards, Busy Signal was named Dancehall Artist of the Decade.
