Puerto Rican reggaetón duo Jowell & Randy came together while watching a boxing match in 2001, when Jowell suggested that they form a group in which he could rap and Randy could sing.

∙ In 2006, the duo joined the short-lived reggaetón supergroup Casa de Leones, which recorded an album that peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.
∙ Casa de Leones’ new recording of their “No Te Veo” became a No. 2 urban soca crossover hit and won an ASCAP Latin Music Award for Urban Song of the Year in 2008.
∙ In 2011, Jowell & Randy became the first-ever reggaetón artist to tour Australia.
∙ Colombian superstar J Balvin collaborated with them on the 2017 old-school reggaetón smash “Bonita,” which was certified Diamond in Mexico and Platinum in Spain.
∙ Their 2020 album, Viva el Perreo, debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, marking the duo’s fifth consecutive Top 10 hit.
