Andy Mineo

Artist ∙ Hip-Hop/Rap

Christian rapper Andy Mineo found himself through his faith and has made unclassifiable rap music inspired by his experience.

• Mineo was raised in a single-parent household in Syracuse, New York. His life changed when he attended Bible camp at the age of 12.
• In high school, Mineo’s faith drifted, and he began to focus on music. He built a studio in his mother’s basement and launched a business recording other artists.
• Mineo joined the rap group Fat Camp in high school. He went on to attend the City College of New York and opened for artists such as The Roots, Common, and Jadakiss.
• In college, Mineo met Grammy-winning producer Alex Medina, who introduced him to the urban ministry group T.R.U.C.E. Mineo soon closed his studio, left Fat Camp, and rededicated his life to Jesus.
• After releasing the independent mixtape Sin Is Wack, Vol. 1 in 2009, Mineo signed with Reach Records in 2011 and released the mixtape, Formerly Known.
• Mineo reached #1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart with both of his first two albums: 2013’s Heroes for Sale and 2016’s Uncomfortable.
