Singer and actor Vijay Yesudas has brought a shining voice to Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu films. He’s renowned for love ballads and wedding songs.
• Born to celebrated multilingual singer K. J. Yesudas in Chennai in 1979, Vijay Yesudas trained in Carnatic music in the late 1990s, then joined the film music industry.
• Yesudas sang alongside his father on the soundtrack to 2000’s Millennium Stars. He paired with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja for several Tamil soundtracks including Kaadhal Kondein in 2003 and Deepavali in 2007.
• In 2007, Yesudas won a Kerala State Film Award for Best Singer with “Kolakuzhal” from Malayalam romance Nivedyam. He won the award again in 2012 and 2018.
• Yesudas portrayed the role of a singer in 2010 Malayalam film Avan. In 2015, he kick-started his acting career in earnest with action-comedy flick Maari.
