Mexican pop star María José has released five Top 10 solo albums, opened shows for Gwen Stefani and Rihanna, and served as a judge/coach on the singing competition series La Voz.

∙ José began her musical career as a teenage vocalist for the Mexican pop group Kabah, which released a string of Gold and Platinum albums between 1994 and 2005.
∙ She launched a solo career with her 2007 self-titled LP and debut hit single, “Quién Eres Tú,” which featured Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Trey Songz.
∙ As a rising star, she achieved massive success with her back-to-back Top 5 albums of ’80s pop covers: 2009’s Amante de Lo Ajeno and 2010’s Amante de Lo Bueno.
∙ Her fourth LP, 2012’s De Noche, produced the double-Platinum pop-rock power ballad “El Amor Manda,” which was featured in the award-winning telenovela Porque El Amor Manda.
∙ In 2016, José collaborated with Puerto Rican pop star Ivy Queen on the reggaetón-infused hit single “Las Que Se Ponen Bien la Falda.”
∙ As a part of the Artists for Mexico supergroup, she participated in the 2020 charity single “Resistiré,” raising money for COVID-19 pandemic relief.
