Blessed
Artist ∙ Reggae
A Jamaican born, Canada based Reggae artist and performer, Blessed began writing tunes while still a young boy in the Caribbean. Moving to Canada at the age of 12, Blessed would hone his skills, and eventually became a respected hit maker, both critically and commercially. In 2002, Blessed won that year's Juno Award for Reggae with the single, "Love (African Woman)." The single was also a number one in a handful of countries. His second big score, awards-wise, came in 2006, when he again won the Juno for the track "Reggae Time." He signed a deal with Universal imprint Explorer, and released a self-titled debut album. In 2008, Blessed earned a fourth Juno Award nomination for that year's ceremony. ~ Chris True
