Producer-turned-rapper Felly (or Young Fel) has an extensive music library, a keen ear, and a penchant for sampling—all of which have laid the foundation for his auspicious career.
• In high school, the Connecticut native earned a following on YouTube by uploading original beats.
• While attending the University of Southern California, Felly partnered with musician friends Jake Standley and Gyyps to create 2273 Records, named after Gyyps’ freshman year dorm.
• He gained widespread attention in 2014, when he released his Waking Up To Sirens project and opened a show for famed producer Madlib.
• In 2017, he went on a 40-date tour with labelmate Gyyps and friend Trip Carter. Still a college senior, Felly juggled his coursework with playing shows across the country.
• Felly dropped his debut album, 2017’s Surf Trap, via his new label Same Plate Entertainment, a joint venture with Sony Music.
