Sash!

Artist ∙ Dance

Brash, melodic, and hugely energetic, Sash!’s hits have been inescapable at clubs and festivals since the DJ and production team was founded in Germany in 1995. Sascha Lappessen, Thomas “Alisson” Lüdke, and Ralf Kappmeier began working together as Careca before a change in record label brought a change in name. Sash!’s first singles in 1995—“It’s My Life,” “Encore Une Fois,” and “Ecuador”—all charted across Europe. They also formed the blueprint for many more hits to come: a sound that combined the exuberance of ‘90s Eurodance with the scope, drama, and velocity of what soon became known as EDM. Using lyrics in several languages increased their global reach, as did their savvy choice of guest vocalists, including ‘80s freestyle great Shannon on 1998’s “Move Mania,” Culture Club’s Boy George on 2002’s “Run,” and superstar soprano Sarah Brightman on 2002’s “The Secret.” Sash!’s longevity is rare for a dance act, with the group surging back in 2021 with “Coming Home,” a soaring trance-pop anthem with British singer Shayne Ward.
