Wooli

Artist ∙ Dance

Wooli is an American DJ and producer known for blending hard dubstep bass drops with airy vocals and emotional melodies—a mix of riddim and brostep he calls “briddim.”

• He fell in love with bass music via his older brother, who would often play a DJ mix CD from drum ’n’ bass legend Andy C.
• In 2016, months after getting into digital production, Wooli released a future bass remix of Dirty Audio & Rickyxsan’s “Gettin That.” The free download was played on BBC Radio 1’s Diplo’s & Friends.
• His first few singles continued in the future bass format, but by 2017’s “Horns Up,” a collaboration with the DJ duo Sunday Service, he'd begun to fully embrace his love of dubstep.
• His 2018 Mammoth EP culminates with a track called “Need U.” With vocals from Josh Marment, the song shows signs of the highly emotive, melodic bass mix that would become his signature.
• That sonic twist is heard in full on his 2019 collaborations with Seven Lions and Excision. Three of those singles—“Island,” “Oxygen,” and “Another Me”—have become Wooli’s biggest hits, and the last of those made Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
