Burgeoning rapper lougotcash is carrying on his family’s hip-hop tradition. His father is Pretty Lou from the ’90s-era Queens group Lost Boyz.

• At age six, the Queens native was already experimenting with wordplay and cadence, recording raps on his godmother’s answering machine.
• In his teens, he dedicated his nights to recording music on his iPad in his father’s car. By 2014, he’d begun regularly uploading songs to SoundCloud.
• Lou’s first major hit was 2016’s “Pipe Down,” which garnered more than 1 million streams across platforms and set him up for the release of his debut mixtape, Lounited States of America.
• The project caught the attention of Gwinin Entertainment founder DJ Self, who signed Lou prior to the release of his 2017 mixtape Lounited States of America Pt2.
• Lou eventually inked a deal with Universal’s Republic Records and delivered his major label debut, 2018’s cleverly titled Louniversal.
• That year, Lou joined Ski Mask the Slump God, Jacquees, and Coi Leray on “Save the Day,” a single from the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack, which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Soundtracks chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
