Dutch DJ and producer Mike Williams emerged in the mid-2010s as a pioneer of the future bounce subgenre of electronic music.
• Born Mike Willemsen, he began playing piano as a preschooler and invested in his first set of DJ equipment when he was only 12 years old.
• He began making his name as a producer by circulating unofficial remixes of songs by Calvin Harris and Carly Rae Jepsen circa 2014.
• Dutch icon Tiësto took notice of Williams’ fusion of bouncy electro, house, and future bass and signed the newcomer to his Musical Freedom label. Williams released his 2016 breakthrough “Sweet & Sour” via Musical Freedom.
• In 2016, Tiësto joined up with Williams for the frenetic, futuristic collaboration “I Want You.”
• Landmark singles like “Lullaby” and “Wait Another Day” (both from 2018) cemented Williams as one of the primary forces propelling future bounce.
