Dutch DJ and producer Steve Void is known for covering and remixing major pop hits and turning them into house-tinged dance tracks.
• Born Stef van Vught, he started writing songs when he was 15. In 2014, he enrolled in the Netherlands’ Herman Brood Academy, a technical school for music production. This kick-started his production career.
• He broke through in 2016 with a brooding dance cover of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.” Featuring Koosen and original vocals by Ember Island, the song has racked up tens of millions of streams.
• Void followed the viral cover with a string of original singles. “Hide and Seek,” “Comfortable,” and “Closure” affirmed his melodic skills.
• In 2017, he started his own label, Strange Fruits, which surpassed 2,000 releases in its first three years.
• His 2019 remix of Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi’s “Bruises” has amassed hundreds of millions of streams.
