Orchestra At Temple Square is the symphonic companion ensemble to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, aka the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

∙ Founded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1999, the orchestra accompanies the choir on weekly Music & the Spoken Word broadcasts and at special events.
∙ In 2003, Grammy-winning violinist Igor Gruppman became the conductor, and the ensemble began performing additional concerts of standard classical music.
∙ Renowned young pianist George Li was a guest performer during the orchestra’s 15th anniversary celebration concert in 2014.
∙ The symphony more than three dozen recordings with the choir—including their 2016 rendition of Handel’s Messiah, which topped Billboard’s Traditional Classical Albums chart.
∙ In 2020, the orchestra and choir celebrated Star Wars Day (May the 4th) by releasing their take on “Duel of the Fates,” a soundtrack piece from Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
