A successful songstress who debuted in 1998, Lil Mo broke into the scene by appearing on several huge singles, including Missy Elliott's "Hot Boyz" and Ja Rule's "Put It on Me." Her debut album, 2001's Based on a True Story, included the smash hit "Superwoman (Part II)" and set the stage for popular collaborations with Fabolous: "Can't Let You Go" and "4 Ever." She released a few more albums throughout the '00s, all of which failed to blow up. P.S. I Love Me is her fifth full-length and her first since 2007's Pain & Paper, and it finds a reinvigorated Lil Mo now going the independent route. Soaring vocals and glossy production dominate, with a dozen songs mostly about true love and overcoming adversity. While big-name producers and high-profile guest artists are largely absent, she does enlist help from Maino ("Take Me Away") and Tweet ("I Love Me") and hooks up with legendary hype man Fatman Scoop for the rigorously upbeat party starter "On the Floor."
