A proper introduction, Welcome to Bubba Land goes without features or guests to give listeners a better sense of his enterprising, lascivious, lyrical blend. Singles like “Black Truck” and the grimier “Keep on Gettin It” exemplify this formula for success, putting loyalty above all else as he reaps the sometimes perilous benefits of living richly. “Braggin’ Rights” and “What They Did” add to his already explicit canon, jumping freely between sexual conquests and hustle brags. He’s indebted to Southern rap’s legacy while actively updating it, as the self-referential “Rich Facts” rides a beat reminiscent of Three 6 Mafia’s heyday, while “Bubba Man” nods more directly to a D4L deep cut.
