Reminiscent of a young Erykah Badu, “Yuengling” and “Backseat” show a jazzy, self-possessed talent unafraid to work within the in-between spaces of her music. She controls the sultry pulse of “Cold Outside,” then lets her voice dance freely over the murky hip-hop rambles of “Night Drive” and “Backwood.”
