The first single of Tee Grizzley’s career, the continually ascending “First Day Out,” earned him a Twitter shout-out from JAY Z. On only his second full-length release, the Detroit rapper continues collecting cosigns, now in the form of guest appearances. Activated’s “2 Vaults” finds Grizzley and Lil Yachty recreating the aggro magic the pair found on “From the D to the A.” Peers like Moneybagg Yo and YFN Lucci add regional flair (Memphis and Atlanta, respectively), but the album’s second of two Chris Brown collabs, the Helluva-produced “Fuck It Off,” pushes the world’s foremost R&B lothario into imposing street-rap posturing, approaching an energy akin to that of “First Day Out.”
