Diplo departs from bass-heavy hedonism to craft a mellow summer soundtrack inspired by his 2004 debut album, Florida. Here, the Hollywood Hills help angle his sound towards hypnotic rhythms and hazy rap as he (momentarily) pivots from speaker-busting dance. Never one to party alone, Diplo invites a cast of all-star collaborators to light up California. MØ and GoldLink add gasoline to remixed party anthem “Get It Right,” while DRAM brings whisky-coated whispers to “Look Back.”
