Yellow Claw’s sophomore album is billed as a love letter to L.A. and Amsterdam, the two cities in which the duo split their time. But the laundry list of guest stars—DJ Snake, Tinie Tempah, Juicy J, GTA, and many, many others—reveals a more global take on EDM. Packing so many voices into one LP could easily result in a sonic traffic jam, but it works: Their drops are like stomach-turning hiccups of silence followed by a tsunami of bass. Don’t miss “Hold on to Me,” a raucous trap number that sounds like someone pulled the fire alarm at the rave.
